Ingredients
Instructions
-
Each orange needs to be cut in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out the flesh using a spoon. It's important for the peel to maintain its shape and remain intact.
-
Take the scooped-out orange flesh and put it in a blender. Add lemon juice, sugar, ketchup, 1.5 tablespoons of cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Blend until smooth.
-
Then, strain this mixture through a sieve.
-
For the batter, combine 110g of flour, 50g of cornstarch, 1 egg, baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt in a deep bowl. Add water and mix well.
-
It's most convenient to mix with a whisk until the batter is smooth and uniform.
-
Cut the chicken breast into small pieces, add them to the batter, and mix everything together.
-
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan until hot. Fry the chicken in batches in the batter for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
-
Remove the cooked pieces with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
-
Drain the oil and pour the orange sauce into the skillet. Add the zest of one orange. Stir well. Keep it on medium heat for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
-
The sauce is ready! Add the fried chicken pieces to it, and mix everything well. Each piece of meat should be coated in the sauce on all sides.
-
Transfer the mixture into the orange peels and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. You can lightly toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan. Chicken in orange sauce is a very delicious dish!
