Description

Pasta with feta and cherry tomatoes is the most popular recipe on TikTok lately. Feta cheese baked with aromatic herbs (oregano, basil, black ground pepper added to taste) and cherry tomatoes, mashed with a fork, turns into a sauce, garlic is added and mixed with boiled pasta. That's it! This is a very simple and quick recipe.

Reviews on the internet are mixed: some find it delicious, while others find it generally sour. Having tried this recipe myself, I can say that it's important to use high-quality fresh feta from a trusted manufacturer and only sweet varieties of tomatoes (cherry, cocktail). The dish has an interesting flavor profile and should appeal to feta lovers.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. We use cherry or cocktail tomatoes. Place them in a baking dish, drizzle with olive oil, and mix.

  2. Place the feta in the center of the dish, pour olive oil over it. Sprinkle the feta with pepper and aromatic herbs to taste. I use oregano, basil, and a bit of black ground pepper.

  3. Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius. The baking time may vary for each oven. The tomatoes should be well baked and cracked, and the feta should become very soft. About 10 minutes before the end of baking, cook the pasta according to the package instructions.

  4. Now, mash the cheese together with the tomatoes using a fork, and add the garlic. It's best to use a garlic press. In other recipes, garlic is sliced, but then there are small pieces of raw garlic in the dish, even if it is finely chopped. In my opinion, this spoils the dish. The garlic should mix with the sauce and give it its aroma, nothing more.

  5. Mash everything together until it reaches a saucy consistency. You can choose to leave some tomato pieces whole if desired.

  6. Place the cooked pasta into the sauce.

  7. Mix everything well, taste, and adjust seasoning if needed. You can add some more black pepper according to your taste. I didn't add salt because feta cheese is already quite salty. If you have it, you can also add some fresh basil leaves.

  8. The pasta with feta and tomatoes is served hot. Enjoy your meal!
