Description

Tender potato patties with fried onions and fresh dill. A wonderful quick lunch! They can be served as a standalone dish with sour cream or as a side to other dishes. It's very tasty and simple.
Almost like zrazy but without the filling.
These potato patties are a real lifesaver if you don't know what to do with leftover mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  1. If you have ready-made mashed potatoes or boiled potatoes with skin, you can use them. If not, you need to boil whole potatoes until tender in salted water. Let them cool.

  2. Chop the onion finely and fry until golden brown. Towards the end of cooking, you can add a pinch of sugar.

  3. Grate the cooled potatoes using a large grater or a potato ricer.

  4. Add the sautéed onion to the potatoes.

  5. Add the beaten egg and chopped dill here. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. 3 tablespoons of flour are used. You might need a bit more, depending on the consistency of the mashed potatoes. Just be careful not to overdo it.

  7. Mix thoroughly. The potato dough should be soft and not heavily floured. Take a tablespoon of the mixture, roll it in flour, and lightly press it into a round patty.

  8. Fry on a heated skillet with oil on both sides until golden brown.

  9. Potato patties with onions turn out very tasty. A simple recipe for every day!
