Description

Roast pork in beer - a beautiful festive dish with a delicious crispy crust, which is quite easy to prepare. Marinated meat in beer and spices is coated with a sauce made from soy sauce, honey, and mustard, then baked in the oven. The meat turns out very juicy, flavorful, tasty, and tender. Serve it with potatoes and pickles.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. We will need a quite large pork knuckle. Make 3-4 cuts on the surface, and insert a peeled garlic clove into each cut.

  2. Place the pork knuckle in a deep container, pour dark beer (you can use light beer as well) over it, and let it marinate for 4-6 hours. Try to turn it periodically to marinate the meat on all sides.

  3. Once the pork knuckle has marinated in beer, add the spices. I have the following set: cloves, a mixture of peppers, crushed bay leaves, dried garlic, all at 0.5 tsp each. Also, add 1 tablespoon of salt and a small onion cut in half.

  4. Add water to cover the pork knuckle completely. Place it on the stove and simmer for 1.5-2 hours.

  5. In a separate bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, and mustard until smooth. Coat the pork knuckle with this sauce and place it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit) for 40 minutes.

To achieve a beautiful shiny crust, remove it from the oven a few times during baking and coat it again with the remaining sauce.

  6. Pork knuckle in beer with mustard-honey sauce turns out very juicy and delicious!
