Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use any type of pasta, but spaghetti made from hard wheat varieties is the best and most delicious option.

Remove the skin from the tomato and cut out the stem base. The easiest way to remove the skin is to make four shallow cuts in a cross shape at the top and bottom of the tomato, then place it in boiling water for 20 seconds and immediately transfer it to cold water. After a minute, the skin can be easily removed.

Chop the onion into small cubes.

Dice the tomato as finely as possible.

Slice the garlic cloves.

Sauté the onion until lightly golden.

Add the ground meat to the onion, sauté everything together until the meat whitens. During cooking, break up the meat in the pan with a spatula to avoid large clumps.

Add the tomatoes, mix everything together.

Next, add the tomato sauce or ketchup. Mix everything together.

Add salt, pepper mix, garlic, dried basil, and mild curry. Why curry, if this dish is from Italian cuisine? Simply because the combination is very tasty. I also often add 0.5 teaspoon of sweet paprika. It gives a pleasant flavor and a nice rich color to the dish. Mix everything well, add water.

Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water according to the package instructions, about 6-9 minutes.

Simmer for 8-10 minutes over low heat, adding more water if needed. The meat sauce should be very thick. Taste for salt and spices, adjust as needed.

Add the drained spaghetti directly into the meat sauce, mix well.

Let the pasta soak up some of the rich flavor for a bit.
