Tzatziki sauce
Description
Tzatziki, also known as cacık in some regions, is a classic cold sauce from Greek cuisine that can easily be made at home. It's a delicious and healthy sauce made with Greek yogurt, cucumbers, herbs, and garlic. This thick sauce is a perfect accompaniment for fish, meat dishes, and is also great with a piece of fresh crusty bread.

To prepare, you will need thick Greek natural yogurt without additives, 3 small cucumbers, half a bunch of fresh dill, 1 large garlic clove, olive oil, salt, and black ground pepper to taste.

Peel the cucumbers, grate them using a coarse grater. Add a pinch of salt, mix, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. This way, we will get rid of excess liquid.

Cucumbers will release juice. Gently press with a spoon to drain all the liquid; we won't need it.

Add finely chopped dill and garlic passed through a press to the cucumbers.

Also, add yogurt and mix everything together.

Pour in the lemon juice and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then mix everything well again.
